Good Joke...

Sunday I leave for my rural internship in Msambweni to work in a hospital. I can’t believe it’s already TOMORROW, my time in Nairobi has been flying by so quickly! I finally found out who my host family will be – I’ll be staying with a Muslim (!) family that lives less than 5 minutes from the Indian Ocean. The mom is a nurse, which I’m super excited for. I have an 18 and 20 year old brother and sister who are probably away at school, but I’m not sure. There’s also a 2 year old boy named Suleiman, which will be lots of fun.

The good joke in all of this is that tomorrow is my 21st birthday. I’ll be spending it with a Muslim family who obviously can’t drink. Party, party!

Last day of school for the MSID-ers!

I'm going to miss my househelp, Kawira, so much!

Hanging out at Jukumu Letu, the day care for slum children that I've been spending time at. This is where I'll be hanging out for the week in May after my program ends before my parents arrive.
